Antique Edwardian tiered lace dress with silk top
An Art Nouveau masterpiece with petals and floral stems and flowers fashioned of silk which dominate this incredible design
The lace on this dress is spectacular; not sure if it is hand or machine made
Lace has a floral motif
This dress has 3 tiers of matching lace in varying lengths under which is the thinnest silk lining, also lace trimmed.
The bodice which is attached to the lace skirting is fully boned and has a hook and eye closure. The label reads Warrens Featherbone. The Warren Featherbone company was in the corset business since 1883 and introduced light weight stays to replace the not so durable whale bone of that time.
The straps of the bodice are silk and the bodice has a top drawstring to to adjust for your bust.
The top blouson, is fashioned of a vanilla silk, and has a short dolman sleeve and is trimmed with the same incredible petals, flowers and stems on the dress. The back has a hook and eye closure.
This dress would be most incredible for bridal wear or to a formal party.
Excellent to age; The silk blouson top is excellent with no condition issues.
The under dress is also excellent with 1 pale fingertip sized rust stain on the bottom layer of lace which is unseen as it is covered by the other two lace layers. No holes, No weakness. The straps on the corset part of the underdress are weak; but useable. It would be a good idea to replace with fresh silk ribbon before your event.
These are the measurements of this dress; You must be small than the measurements to fit into this. Otherwise I am sure that an expert tailor could refit the dress to you.
