Myles Standish Slocum / Isabel Bradford Shaw Wedding Dress.
** I have had a number of folks ask about measurements and extra photos . Isabel was 19 when she married. The dress is on a paper form from the cleaners, plus my mother says is interesting to try and measure with all the lace and being handmade. We just took more photos plus here are some Approx. measurements.Bust : 31 inchesWaist : 27 inchesThe train itself is around 88 to 90 inches long. Also PLEASE ask for more photos, I am changing a few this morning so you may see the dress being held up by mother plus the long train.
My Aunt has decided to have me sell this special wedding dress worn by her Grandmother in 1912. Along with this dress full of history you will receive 3 original photos from the wedding that took place on October 31, 1912 in St. Louis at the Central Presbyterian church.Myles Standish Slocum and his Bride were both descendants of passengers on the Mayflower. MS Slocum is the Son of Colonel Herbert J. Slocum "Cavalry" and a nephew to Olivia Sage.
I have spent much time researching this gown and other family items I am selling. I have discovered articles written concerning this grand event and included a photo of one such article. The wedding, guests, church, reception and this dress are explained in grand detail in this 1912 article.
